I'm not a milk drinker. I admit it. Maybe once a year I drink a glass of milk. I pretty much use it for cooking, baking, smoothie making, and consuming cold cereal.
Since going gluten free earlier this year, all of my annoying food allergies, minus the gluten intolerance, have magically disappeared. I'm not kidding. Things I haven't been able to eat for years, I can now have again. Nuts were part of the no-no list for a long time. Almonds were the worst for me in terms of side effects. Not any more, though!
I tried unsweetened Almond milk for the first time last week. I have to say, I didn't hate it. I honestly thought I would not like it at all. I'm not even sure why I tried it. I just wanted something different I suppose. Also, it was on sale at Fred Meyer, 2 for $5. I get some sort of sick, twisted joy from trying new things. Especially if I can pick it up on sale or with my coupons. :)
Taste wise, it doesn't pack as much punch as the vanilla soy milk I dearly love. I'm curious to try the sweetened Almond Breeze to see if that helps boost the flavor a bit. However, the unsweetened that I purchased is only 40 calories per cup! Then again, it doesn't have as much protein as the soy milk I love. Check out the nutritional stats....
All in all, it's a great alternative if I'm in need of something a little lighter. Have you tried Almond Breeze? If so, what's your favorite way to serve it?

I've tried the vanilla unsweetened stuff and I don't care for it. My favorite is Silk Vanilla Almond milk. That to me tastes like a McDonald's vanilla shake. Not of thick of course but thats what it tastes like to me.
I absolutely LOVE Blue Diamond Unsweetened Almond milk. I use it in my coffee, in my oatmeal, and even in baking. My son is allergic to milk, and I've discovered that I'm somewhat intolerant as well. After trying Soy Milk, Rice Milk etc., I discovered Almond milk a few years ago, and after trying a number of brands, flavors, etc., decided that the unsweetened Blue Diamond is my favorite. Luckily, it turned out to be my son's favorite as well. I make him hot chocolate with it in Winter and he loves it, as well as on his cereal etc. It's also great when I make pancakes, waffles, etc. I just sub in the Almond milk for milk.
We use Almond Breeze every morning in our Banana, Strawberry Protein Shakes. YUM.

I never thought I would like almond milk, but I LOVE it! Have you tried Silk Pure Almond Milk? That's the only one I have tried. I tried the original and that was excellent. i also tried the vanilla and I didn't care for it as much but I would definately drink it again. :) I've never tried the Almond Breeze brand. Now, I have to try it just to see if it tastes different. :)
I love Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze for making chai lattes (hot or cold) at home. Best part is 1/2 cup is 1 point, 1 cup is still 1 point.
I love almond milk too but the Original Unsweetened - I haven't tried the Vanilla. I use it on cereal, in my coffee, and just to drink - wherever I used to use cow's milk. I've grown disgusted with cow's milk somehow - I don't like the taste or smell of it anymore.
I have not tried almond milk - I love coconut milk though, I am not a fan of cow milk unless it is steamed and added to coffee.
I have enjoyed it for years in my smoothies. i only do milk in cereal but love the almond breeze in everything else.
