| 100 Day Challenge Accountability Chart |
I like to take a moment at the end of each month for a "recap". Have things gone they way I thought they would? Did I meet whatever goals I set for myself? Were there set backs? This helps me figure out what needs to happen next month. Sometimes, it helps pave a path for the remainder of my year! Here's my recap for March 2011. I'll come up with 11 things to chat about since it's 2011.
- Hit my lowest weight since moving to Washington. Woohoo!
- Completed another month of John Bingham's 100 Day Challenge! Even the days I was fevered and sick, I made a point to do something instead of just sitting. You know what I discovered? Stretching for 30 minutes while running a fever is a lot of damn hard work!
- Had a successful (for the most part) Gluten Free month. This is a HUGE step for me! I'm still hitting potholes in the road from time to time, but my Celiac symptoms are pretty much nonexistent these days. At least until I consume something with gluten, and then I pay the price for several days. Thanks to everyone who sent me their GF tips!
- I ran 86.5 miles this month! I was striving for 100, but will certainly take 86.5! That's my biggest mileage month so far this year. Maybe EVER. At this point, I'm running injury free, and have a total of 216.5 miles logged in 2011! I'm pretty certain I will the 100 mile goal mark next month. The long runs keep getting longer. With the first half marathon of the year approaching quickly (May 8th), it will all add up for me rather quickly. I would love for you to come cheer me on with my training over on my other blog OR by joining me on DailyMile.com. :)
- I created my May - October training schedule. Very important considering I'm already registered for 3 half marathons this year. [I'm contemplating adding a 4th. Shhhh, don't tell Kent.] I'll post the training schedule on my running/exercise blog, willrunforcoffee.com, soon.
- I joined a gym at our local rec center.....and I've actually used the membership a bunch of time already! I know, right? Go me!
- Oooh! I bought a bread machine so I can make my own Gluten Free bread instead of having to pay $5.00 per loaf at the grocery store. Thank God for Bob's Red Mill & their fabulous GF Baking Flour Blend. The entire family loves my homemade bread. Who knew? They usually complain about everything under the sun. This seems to be one thing we can all agree is awesome. I purged the house of all our old flour (There was a LOT. I must have had every kind known to man.) I bought a giant food grade container/bucket, a 25 pound of that GF flour, and never looked back!
- So far, I haven't eaten an entire loaf of my delish homemade bread in a single day like I very much want to! lol (Major achievement for a bread lover like me. That's why it made #8 on this list.)
- I finally set up my Race For The Cure donation page! Donations are never expected, but they are always greatly appreciated! My 2011 goal is to raise $800.00 before the Girlfriends Half Marathon in October. Wish me luck! So far, I'm at 12% of my goal.
- I made a point to take at least 15 minutes of each day to do something JUST for me. Reading, knitting, sewing, watching the monologue of The Talk, working on a project that has nothing to do with anyone else in my family, etc.
- Last but not least, I'm making a point to get in lots and lots of protein since I'm running more and more as half marathon season speeds toward me like a bolt of lightening. My muscles need it. I crave it. Anyone near me with a jar of peanut butter better watch out. My love for peanut butter is sick and twisted. I'm thankful that it's one of the few things I'm NOT allergic to. Jimi Hendrix said it best in the song Foxy Lady. Picture me, in the grocery store, singing to a jar of Adam's All Natural Chunky peanut butter....
I hope March was great for you. If it wasn't, what will you change so April will be super fab-u-lous? If I ask myself this question, the answer would be, "Don't get sick!". lol Nothing slows me down & gets me down like illness. With two kids in the house, avoiding it 100% is impossible. So I'll keep taking my vitamins & pray for the best. :)"I'm gonna take you homeI won't do you no harm, noYou've got to be all mine, all mineHere I come...I'm comin' to get ya"
