September 2010 Activity Charts

Tracking activity is just as important as writing down what you eat during your weight loss / maintenance journey.  Pick a chart & print it.  Keep it close by.  Each time you workout, give yourself a sticker, or write down what you did that day in the space.  I like to tag team my chart & do both! lol  [Nerd Alert: I even bought a special fine tip sharpie to do the job....and small stickers.]  Someone emailed me & let me know they like to place a current monthly progress picture on their chart.  I thought it was a brilliant idea...so I whipped up a chart that could accommodate such motivation.  As usual, there are plain jane charts for those of us low on printer ink (the story of my life).  :)

Go print a chart for yourself.  Be active this month.  If a week passes & your chart looks "too naked" (not enough stickers or activity for the month)...what are you going to do about it?

Even my kids print a chart. They're still at ages where being around their mom is fun and cool. I know my days are numbered...so I'll eat these moments of having them bike or run along side me as much as possible. At this point in their lives, they're active EVERY single day without even trying. I'd like to keep it that way.  Their bikes have more miles on them than any other kids I know. I love that they're following in healthy footsteps. What would our lives be like had I not started my journey way back when?

Please let me know how things are going with your charts at the end of the month!  I love hearing about your successes...and even the flops.  You never know if you'll like something until you try.  My next adventures will be spent hula hooping.  We can thank Reen for getting me hooked on that topic. lol  If you haven't checked out her blog yet, do so.  She has amazing before and after pictures, and is one of my favorite fellow bloggers!

I got the Nerd merit badge. I keep a daily journal (in chart form, of course) and record all sorts of things related to my journey to lose weight, including my daily exercise. It's amazing how I've been steadily losing since I decided to exercise 6/7 days a week--one of those healthy habits, no?

A few months ago I started printing out a calendar and putting smiley face stickers on the days I get 30 mins. (or more) of exercise and I seriously get in my exercise just so I won't have a missing smiley face!! I am very competitive (even with myself) and only missed one day in July, so my goal was to get all the days in August. I am proud to say I met my goal and worked out every weekday in August!!!!
