Odwalla Bars (tree nut free treats for me!)

Nut free granola bars!!!!  OK, so they're really not granola bars.  They do give me that granola bar fix I sometimes need, though.  Also, only SOME of the bars within the line of products are tree nut free.  And of course, the packaging clearly states the bars are made on machines that might have come in contact with tree nuts.  Contact, schmontact, I say!  I've found a granola bar substitute that I can eat & not go the E.R.  YAY!  Many of you have heard me complain on twitter & facebook that I have been sooooo wanting a good granola bar.  Not the quaker kind I buy the kids.  The good stuff.  The kind you hide in the back of the pantry so nobody but you can enjoy them.  Oh, yes.  You know what I'm talking about don't ya?

It's difficult to find GOOD granola bars without tree nuts.  There are places online to order custom made granola and granola bars, but WOW the price gets steep with shipping and all.  I found these Odwalla Bars at Whole Foods.  They're sold lots of other places as well, and have been around forever.  I've actually had them before my nut allergy kicked into high gear.  Once I became aware of the allergy, I passed them by in the store assuming they contained tree nuts like all the rest.  Thankfully, many of their flavors don't.  Lucky me!

{one of my favorite flavors....chocolate chip peanut}

{thick, chewy goodness...especially with a cup of coffee!}

{230 calories, 8 fat, 4 fiber}

Not as much of a peanut flavor as I would like, but I'm a peanut butter & peanut fanatic.  So my opinion should not count.  They're chewy, and thick, and wonderful, and filling, and fabulous with a cup of coffee.  They could very easily be an awesome breakfast on the go.  I bought five of them.  $1.19 each.  The price alone will make them last a while. lol  Just wanted to pass along the good news in case anyone else out there shares my allergy & need for a fabulous bar!  :)

It looks delicious, but I never have bars that have more than 1 or 2 pts, because I know I can't eat just 1 bar. I have to have something else with it: a yogurt with fruits perhaps.

I picked up one of these today at the grocery store. Will eat it later with my evening coffee.
