Weight Loss Ticker

I found the grooviest web site ever. It's called www.tickerfactory.com. You can make a weight loss ticker for showing off your stats to the world. The ticker can be added to your e-mail signature line, or a web site, blog, bulletin boards, etc. What a GREAT visual to see how far you've come. Here's a sample:

If you need the visual impact of clip art to keep you motivated (like me)...then go make yourself a cool little ticker. :)

New Tunes On www.TheWWChick.com!

I finally removed the festive holiday tunes from my web site today. Kind of sad to see them go since I do love the season so so so so much. However, I replaced them with a themed genre of music from my teen years (ahhh...good times). The tunes are from two specific '80s movies. Can you guess which movies I'm thinking of by listening to the songs??? I'll give you a clue. Both movies feature a star with the initials M.R.. Did I just make that too easy or what?

By the way, the Night Ranger song was not on either soundtrack. I just couldn't resist adding it due to it's awesomeness. :)

I'll add a few new recipes to the site real soon. People are starting to bark up my tree about needing something new & exciting to cook. So stop your barking. I'm on top of it. Pinky promise.

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!

Happy Holidays

I'm passing out the lyrics to our Weight Watchers holiday songs during the meeting this week. However, many of you keeping up with my newsletter & blog live out of state. So, for those of you unable to attend my weekly meetings, this post is for you. Sing. Sing a song. Sing out loud. Sing out strrooonnngggg......

Weight Watchers Holiday Song
(Sing to the tune of "Jingle Bells")

Dashing through the snow
'Cuz weigh in my summer clothes
To Weight Watchers I go
that's where my motivation grows!

Holiday time is near
And it's harder to lose weight
But I can stay on Program
And It's making me feel great!

Oh...Weight Watchers, Weight Watchers
So good for the soul
When I'm on the wagon
I get closer goooooaaaaal!

Weight Watchers, Weight Watchers
I know that I can win!
Keep coming here through the holidays
And keep on thinking thin!

Weight Watchers Is Coming To Town
(Sing to the tune of "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town")

Juuuuuust...one little munch
and one little crunch
stay far away from the holiday punch.
Weight Watchers is coming to town.

You're making food lists,
you're tracking your Points.
We're gonna find out who hit the fast-food joints.
Weight Watchers is coming to town.

We know when you been tracking,
We know when you've had cake.
We know if you snuck down the stairs to eat all those goodies that you baked.

Ohhhhhhhh....you better take aim,
and do what you should
so when you get weighed - you will shout "GOOD!"
Weight Watchers is coming to town.

Heather's December Monthly Dinner Menu

What's your plan for the holiday season? Eating everything in sight? Or planning ahead? I've found, with a little trial & error, there are only 3 - 4 days per week I'm forced to cook. I stopped planning for weekends long ago. We're not home. No need to buy extra groceries & plan meals for days we're not around. If the thought of planning an entire month's worth of meals overwhelmes you, break it down to a weekly dinner menu. Do what it takes to keep yourself accountable & on track this holiday season. I know you can do it. Nothing is impossible!!!

December 2006 Motivational Calendar

Frauzee, from the WW staff web site, has done it again with yet ANOTHER awesome monthly calendar. Such a great motivator! Print one for yourself. Heck, print one for a friend while you're at it. Then drag your friend with you to our meeting. Enjoy!

Alternate Web Site Address

I keep forgetting to mention that you can access my web site a couple of different ways. This is especially helpful information if your workplace has "blocks" set up within their network. Many of these blocks will not allow the word "chick" to go through. Anyway, if you have encountered this problem, try www.heathercacak.com instead. It goes to the same site....just an alternate URL for those of you with chick blockers! :)

Holiday Smoothie Recipes Are Here!

I added some festive tunes to my web site over the weekend. Now you have something to put you in the holiday spirit while you write down the four new holiday smoothie recipes I added this afternoon: Candy Cane Smoothie, Peppermint Patty Smoothie, Gingerbread Smoothie, and a very traditional Eggnog Smoothie!

Week 49: Shopping, Eating, Losing

Shopping, busy, holiday, sales, expensive toys my kids will never play with once Christmas is over, baking, parties, crazy work schedule, find a sitter, no time to breathe, hubby complained about how much money was spent at the mall (again), too much to do - so how will I stay on track with a nutritious food plan & lose weight this holiday season? That's the question of the season.

This week, let’s identify ways to eat well & stay on track no matter how busy you become during the holiday season. Be prepared to share a few time saving recipes or tips if you have any! Your idea might help a fellow member on the verge of falling off the wagon.

I also want to discuss the topic of dining out at least 50% of the meeting. We’re all busy. It’s easy to get swept away with the thought of eating at your favorite restaurant. Plus, you know dining out will occur at least 957.4 times this holiday season. Go into this time frame armed with motivation & empowering beliefs. Beliefs that scream out, “I CAN DO THIS!!!! I CAN LOSE WEIGHT DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON!!! I DO NOT HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL JANUARY TO STICK TO MY PLAN!!!!”.

Also, if you don’t have a copy of the Dining Out Companion - get one! This is a great time to do so. Buy one now & you’ll get the 2007 version (due for release in January) for just $5.00!!! That’s an awesome saving of 50%. And think of how many brain cells you’ll save by staying sane throughout the season. Knowing what is Core or how many Points values is in mall food is easy when you have the proper tool!

If you have an e-tools account, use it! Look up all of your favorite treats & goodies before you leave the house. If you don’t have time to plan ahead before shopping, look up the information when you get home. ‘Tis the season, people. Decide now if you want to come out ahead (or at least even) come January 1st. I know you can do it. You do not have to gain weight this holiday season. There’s power in numbers. So come on into our meeting this week to tackle the topic of "eating, shopping, and losing" with our group.
